When a woven structure
is bent upwards the top surface is in compression and the bottom
surface in tension. The weave under tension will try to straighten
the crimp in the fibres before resisting the bend. A uni-directional
fibre will resist the bend immediately because the fibres are
already straight. Uni-directional fibres can be laid in the directions
needed to give maximum strength.
A close inspection of an NHP Razor Pro
blade will show the multi axial lay-up of the uni-directional
fibre which, when coupled with our high temperature, high pressure
production system, ensures superior strength to weight ratio with
high rigidity to provide you with ultimate performance.
NHP
Carbon Pro Tail Blades have been developed to give the ultimate
in performance. Using a high performance laminar flow symmetrical
section they give smooth progressive control for all forms of
flying: from scale through to sport and all the way to aggresive
3D. The square tip design gives the serious pilot the opportunity
to trim the length of the blade to get the perfect mechanical
tail set up to match their gyro and flying style.
Please note that
it has been found that JR tail blade holders are less than 5mm
wide. When a standard NHP tail blade is used in a JR tail blade
holder, a small amount of side to side rocking movement is visable.
This rocking causes the blade bush to cut its way through the
blade root. NHP have now modified the root shape to suit JR helicopters.
When fitting NHP tail blades make sure that there is no side to
side rocking movement, this will ensure many hours of happy flying.
If you are flying 3D it is recommended that the bushes are epoxied
in place.
NB: Do
not confuse side to side rocking movement with lead/ lag which
is normal
NHP
are proud to say that they are the only manufacturer of carbon
sheet products with total control of production from purchasing
raw materials to marketing the finished product.
Our own specification
multi axial lay up coupled with our in-house designed high pressure
and temperature system (200psi, 120°) produces a high quality
flat sheet with superior strength and rigidity. Sheet is available
in thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm to 40mm.
All NHP products
are designed and manufactured in house using the latest Cad Cam
techniques. Programs are transferred to precision CNC routing
machines ranging in size from 800 x 900mm to 2000 x 4000mm. The
carbon sheet parts are cut using tungsten carbide tools in high
speed spindles (up to 40,000 rpm) ensuring accuracy and quality
of finish. |
